Trends for 2010…
The bridal market is strongly following current fashion trends that is for sure and watch out for pastels and ice-cream colours as well as white and ivory. Fabrications are softer – delicate chiffons, tuille and whispy feathers. Lace, embroidery and crystal embellishments. Lacing details are also a feature this season.

Glamour comes in the form of the Grecian-feel silhouette with eye-catching decoration and back elements to leave a lasting impression. Ruffles, pleating and tier-upon-tier detailing.
Look also for understated detailing and cleverly ruched, draped and gathered soft fabrications that help to create the waistline – look out for one-shouldered styles and the empire-line to make the most of a beautiful fuller bustline.
Vintage is hot – romantic floaty dresses with antique beading and lace giving an almost ‘boho-chic’ look which is great for the hotter months.

The trend also continues for nudes and soft golds as well as ivory and rose gold – this is very flattering for all skin types.
Tea-length dresses – just a few inches above the knee have grown in popularity - especially for civil weddings and are a great way of showing off a great pair of shoes.

…and for wedding guests…

Dresses and dress suits are still hot this season and there are so many to choose from – experiment with lengths as you have everything from short to maxi.
The fifties skirt suit is also filtering through – shorter box jackets with ¾ sleeves teamed with pencil or A-line skirts.
Also, do not be afraid to go for this season’s love of strong pattern and print and combine with co-ordinating fascinators.
If you want a simpler look – go for black and white, the favourite red palette or sugar pastels – but in simple modernistic shapes. Finish with a feature clutch bag and a great pair of heels.
If you are scared by the variety of hats and fascinators about why not go for a decorative or beaded/sequinned alice-band, which, can be very flattering - and there are lots to choose from this season!
